Funny game to watch the activities going around one of the most thought-after lookout place in SF today. Of course, summer is full of tourists in the city (french, italian, german and french). While reading the new William Gibson’s novel ‘Spook country’, I just realized that all the noisy conversations around me were about….our furry friends.
Indeed, Alamo square seems to be divided into distinct sections (see picture):
- careful in the red, this is dog zone. Very social place actually where you need to be proficient in pedigree and have petstore membership.
- the green zone is where you need to speak something else than English. Or quickly snap THE shot of your SF trip before the following bus dumps its load of hungry photographers. Quick, quick cos you need to still tour the Golden gates, and the mission paintings before night comes in.
- the blue zone is where the babies and small kids enjoy the shadow of the afternoon.
- unmarked zone is where you access the red, green and blue zone.
As you can understand, I was in the ‘red zone’ when I kicked off my little tour. The bench on top of the park seems to be the most quiet place I found.
